Today I wore my usual uniform for work
Today I wore my usual uniform for work - a tee shirt and jeans. It's a fairly standard uniform, but I do enjoy that we get to pick whichever footwear we want, so I usually wear my bright pink converse all stars, which are my favorite casual shoes. They're really super comfortable, which is super important because I stand and move all day long. My tee shirt is brown, which normally I would hate, but my company invested in shirts which are actually not a terrible shade of brown, but also are super soft and really fitted nicely, so it is also fairly comfortable to wear all day long.

Governor's Island
Even more paradoxically and confusingly than the use of the same name for both the City and the State of New York, there is an island in New York harbor, part of New York City, known as Governors Island. Despite what you might think, that's NOT where the Governor of New York lives, nor ever did. Governors Island was still called "Nutten Island" back when New York was just a British Colony, two and a half centuries ago. Back then the British-appointed Royal Governor lived on Manhattan island. Nutten Island was set aside as the private hunting ground for the Governor and his guests, and therefor after the American Revolution it was renamed Governors Island. Today, the land of Governors Island is still set aside, but for everyone. The entire island is maintained as a park and nature preserve, open to the public during the summer and early fall months. Especially in the fall, my favorite time of year, Governors Island is a great place to walk around. There you can still see royalty - the royal spread of autumn leaves leaves nothing to desire.

New York, New York
New York is a great place. Of course, a knowing reader will ask, "Do you mean the city New York or the state New York?" And I would facetiously answer "Yes," enjoying the confusion. New York State is known as "The Empire State" and it lives up to its nickname. After all, the seat of the Western World's economy, the very heart of Capitalism, is here. What better represents the Western Empire than Wall Street, home of the Dollar? Wall Street, of course, is not just in the State of New York, but in the City of New York, as well. Many don't realize, though, that the eponymous city is NOT the capital of the state; that honor belongs to another city, Albany. Albany, New York is where the New York legislature sits, as well as the various branches of the State government, and the Governor's residence.

Bridal Shower Favors
At long last, Ken and I will be married. We’ve been together since we were 15 years old and now we are already 28 and getting married. I am so much happy and excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and my lover who is the source of my strength and patience in everything I do. However, before all these dramas, I am excited to shop for bridal shower favors for all my girlfriends. I am sure that the bridal shower will be something to treasure for the rest of my life. Oh I am just so happy and I think I am the happiest woman in the world.
Designer Saree
The Designer saree that I’m wearing today is the most expensive clothing I ever had. It has excellent hand work. The maroon cloth is studded with golden beads, threads and white stones. The entire clothing it more weighing because of the bead works. The blouse which has the same work as that of saree is too attractive. The basic theme of the entire design is Arabic design which comprises of flowers and leaves. The flowers and leaves are lined with golden threads and studded with beads. The centre of the flower bears the White stone dazzling like diamond. Its my pride to wear this saree as I became the centre of attraction at the party tonight.
Shopping for Wedding
My bestfriend Mika will be having her wedding day this coming January and this early, she’s starting to shop for all the things they need for the wedding. Last week, we did some shopping for wedding fans, invitations and souvenirs and I must say it was fun despite the fact that it was tiring too to find these things in different stores. But I am glad we were able to accomplish all the things in her shopping list. Next week will be allotted for her wedding gown which I am very excited about. She’s been on a diet to prepare for this so I am confident she will look best in her wedding dress.
Wonders of the Internet
I have been an internet junkie for about nine years now and discovered its many wonders. I have connected with people I would have never connected with before. I can research any subject, anytime, in the comfort of my own home without having to find an encyclopedia set. The internet has helped me see the world in a whole new light, maybe not always a good light, but that goes with everything. I have stayed in contact more with old friends and met family I never knew. I can’t wait to see all the wonders I have yet to discover!
The Eyes of Texas
I am a proud Texan – I cannot begin to describe the beautiful state I live in. It is the only state that was a country of its own! There are many wonderful historical stories about Texas and it is one of the most diverse states, with many different cultures. Many people think of Texas as nothing but lots of plains and tumbleweeds, but I can tell you Texas is breath-taking!
